What I Liked About the Class LOR-101
While taking the class LOR-101 I liked several things that we did in this class. The first thing that I liked was how my teacher knew how to answer all of my questions completely, and in a way that I could understand. The second thing that I liked was how we did group work in class. This helped me understand the databases more and the correct order of how to citate when we used the pieces of paper. This helped me because I learn better doing more hands on projects. The third thing that I liked was actually having homework assignments and having to do our weekly blogs. The reasoning behind this was because the homework taught me how to create and customize a Google Custom Search Engine, and the blogs helped me express myself. The last thing that I liked was how helpful the information that I learned from this class helped me in my other classes. As you can see, I really enjoyed taking this class for the reasons I listed above, and I would reccommend everybody to take this class.
What I learned from LOR-101
When I first signed up to take the class LOR-101, I thought it was just going to be a class where I could just work on homework, kind of like a study hall. To my amazement, the class was not like this at all. Instead, we learned about the different databases that an individual could use to help locate information. I also learned which databases are best for different subjects such as ERIC is for education. I also learned how to citate, such as in APA form, and about plagarism, which consisted of the different types. Before I took this class I had no idea about any of this information that I just stated, but by taking LOR-101 it helped me with research for my other classes such as English papers. I feel that this class was really helpful to my education and own knowledge and I am glad that I took this class.

What are the 20 Biggest Tech Failures of 2010?
In 2010, there were many of advances that entered into the world but there was also several that were failures. On a website called, http://www.infoworld.com/, I learned 20 of the biggest technology failures of 2010. These included: Google Buzz, Apple Ping, Google Wave, Net Neutrality, Facebook Privacy, McAfee's False Positive, Palm Pre and WebOS, HP Slate 500, Android Tablets, Google Nexus One, Joo Joo, Plastic Logic Que, Gray Powell and Brian Hogan, iPhone 4 Antenna, Whit iPhone 4, Blackberry Torch, Ask.com, Blockbuster, MySpace, and Microsoft Kin.
My thought process for this blog consisted of searching the web for the top 20 biggest technology failures just to ease my curiosity. I always wondered what failed and what didn't so I went to Google and did a Google Search and the first website that came up was http://www.infoworld.com/. On this website it consisted of a powerpoint that included the top 20 technology failures. This website was reliable because in the powerpoint presentation it gave me reasons why each product was a failure and the website as a whole was rated as a 10 by reviewers. The link that I used for this blog was: http://www.infoworld.com/d/applications/the-20-biggest-tech-failures-2010-093¤t=1&last=22#slideshowTop.

What to do When Technology Failure Occurs?
Technology failure, can occur anywhere. For example, it can occur at your office, at your house, in your community, and even at univerisites. In an article that I read, the article talked about technology failure on campus. The article stated that viruses, spyware, and cyber problems can cause sudden disruptions to Campus Mail, such as Racer Mail, and even to the Internet.
The article went on to tell a procedure of steps that an individual can do after this type of failure occurs. First, key personnel are notified and recovery groups are grouped so that they can solve the problem. After the team is notified, they will do everything to try and figure out the best solution to solve your situation. When a disaster happens people must remember that people are the most valuable resource.
My thought process for this blog was to come up with a question. I knew that technology failure was when technology all of a sudden shuts down or stops working completely, so I wanted to figure out what students could do on campus if a problem occurred. After coming up with my question, I then went to Google and did a Google Search and found an article on http://www.southernct.edu/. This article was the first link that popped up on my Google Search. The link gave me reliable information and answered my question completely and I now know how to handle my problems if a technology failure occurs and I can educate my friends as well. The Kindle Electronic Book Reader; Will it Last?
The latest technology to the average book reader has been changed dramatically. How? The latest technology out is an electronic book reader, or a Kindle. The Kindle has several features that are very appealing to the customer. For example, it is wireless and very independent, it uses high resolution so that the text is very readable, and it even offers free book samples so that the customer can try out the book before purchasing the Kindle.
Do I feel like this product is going to last? The answer is Yes! I feel this way because when books get printed several trees have to be cut down in order to print the text on the pages, but with the Kindle electronic book reader, this problem does not have to occur any longer. The reason I feel like this product will last is because several people care about the environment and this product is environment friendly.
My thought process for this blog consisted of going to Google and conducting a Google Search. The first website that came up with accurate and reliable information to my question was: http://www.patronbooks.com/. This website told me every feature that this product has to offer to the customer and why it is appealing.

What is the iPad 2?
The iPad2 is a product made by Apple. This product is typically termed as "new technology!" Why? The answer is simple. According to http://www.apple.com/, as soon as somebody picks up this product they are not going to want to put it down. The iPad2 is now 33% thinner and up to 15% lighter than the original iPad so it feels more comfortable in your hands. This product has two very powerful chips in it and this makes it an advantage to the customer because they can do two times the surfing faster and a 10 hour battery life.
Now, the question is, do you think that this product will last? To me, I feel that this product will last because with all of the features that this new technology has to offer, more people are going to want to buy this product and surf the web fast. Picture this, why would you want to be using a product that takes several minutes to surf the web when you can get one simple product and surf two times as fast. I feel like the iPad2 is the latest technology and it will be around until something new and improved comes along because people always want the next best thing.
My thought process for this blog consisted of coming up with a product name that is labeled as new technology. After coming up with the product, iPad2, I then went to Google and did a google search. Tide vs.Gain; How They Compare and Contrast
I am sure that everybody is familiar with the products: Tide and Gain. For my blog assignment this week, I was asked to compare and contrast two products. I immediately thought of laundry detergents' because I know that when I wash laundry I want to get the best detergent for the job and for my money's worth.
So, let's talk about how Tide and Gain are alike. First, both products are used to wash laundry. Second. both of these products are made from P&G and third, both products are made with appealing smells to lure the customers to buy the products.
Now, that we have distinguished how these products are similar let's talk about how they are different. First, at Walmart, Tide was priced at $6.86 whereas Gain only cost $5.97. Another difference, is that Tide pays alot more money for advertising such as commercials like Loads of Hope for Haiti. With commercials such as this, it makes it more appealing to the customers especially because they know that they are doing a better deed for somebody else. I found this information on the links': http://www.tide.com/en-US/categoryresults.jspx?q=tide+commericals+&localePath=en-US&localeName=en_US&x=30&y=17 and http://www.afullcup.com/forums/product-review/202401-tide-vs-gain.html.
From these links', I found reliable information. I found reviews on the products from individuals' just like us and how they feel about these two products, and even how Tide's advertising techiniques are more appealing. Now, you can see how these two products compare and contrast, and hopefully next time when you go grocery shopping you can come up with a better conclusion on which product to purchase.
