Why are the Egyptians protesting in Cairo?

Egyptians have been protesting their government for weeks now hoping to remove their president of thirty years. The President of Egypt is a man by the name of Hosni Mubarak. The Egyptians are hoping to create a democracy for themselves like the United States. They are wanting to earn their rights and earn more opportunites economically. With this protest going on, it puts Barack Obama, our president, in a nutshell because Mubarak has been an ally to the United States for several years. The United States is wanting to see the Egyptians earn their rights and become a democracy, and recently, Obama has cut down the funds tremendously hoping that Mubarak will back down on his own.

This week we were asked to blog about the Egyptian protests. I personally, did not understand completely what was going on and why the Egyptians were doing the protest so that is the reason why I titled my blog, "Why are the Egyptians protesting in Cairo?" After coming up with this question, I did a Google Search. When I serached this question several websites and links came up but one link stuck out to me in particular. The link that I used to supply the answer to my question was: http://www.kstatecollegian.com/opinion/egyptians-protest-for-freedom-leaves-u-s-in-awkward-spot-1.2454124. From this link, I found reliable information and found out the answer to my question. I now understand why the protest is going on.
